There’s a fun story to when I took this photo (same place as this one, too). I wanted to do something on my day off, so I ran out to some park that I googled.

It really was beautiful – a fire had gone through there not too long ago, and the regrowth made a great contrast to the blackened husks here and there. But it started raining, and since I’m an idiot, I decided to do it anyway. It just got muddier and muddier as time went on. But at least I had the place to myself.

Of course, using a camera outside in the rain would be idiotic.

But at least I was keeping myself dry and clean.

This would build up on my shoes every two steps, so there wasn't any use wiping it off.

But all of my stuff survived, none worse for the wear.

Main picture was taken with my 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS. It’s my widest lens, and definitely the one that feels the cheapest. After the fact I considered that my weather-sealed more expensive telephoto lens probably was at less risk. But hey, what’s the point of having a camera if you can’t take it out just because it’s raining?
